Frequently asked

The questions, answered.

The questions we get asked most often. If yours isn't here, send us the form — we'll answer it within one working day and add it to the list.

How long does a build actually take?

The Starter package is two weeks from brief signed to live site. The Practice package is three weeks. The Group package is four to six weeks depending on scope.

We meet our timelines because we keep scope tight. If a project is going to slip, you'll know about it in the first week, not the last.

Do I own the website?

Yes. You own the domain, the design, the code, and the content. We don't keep you locked into our hosting or our maintenance — you can take the site somewhere else any time you want.

This isn't normal in the agency world. A lot of agencies build sites you don't really own, on platforms only they can access, so you need them forever. We don't do that.

What about booking software?

We work with whatever you already use, or we recommend one. The most common are Cliniko, Semble, and Heydoc for clinical practices, plus the booking widgets that come with Google Business Profile. We've integrated all of them.

If you don't have booking software yet, we'll recommend the one that fits your specialty and your patient volume, and we'll set it up as part of the build.

What about ongoing maintenance?

Optional. Our maintenance plan is £40/month or £420/year and covers hosting, updates, security patches, monitoring, and small content changes (under 30 minutes per month).

If you don't want a recurring plan, you don't need one. The site will keep running. When you need updates, you can either do them yourself through the admin panel, or ask us back at £90/hour.

Can I update the site myself?

Yes. We build on platforms with friendly admin interfaces — usually Webflow or WordPress — and we leave you with admin access and a short video walking through how to make common changes (add a new news post, update opening hours, change a service description).

If you'd rather not, that's fine too. The maintenance plan covers small ongoing changes.

What about SEO?

Every package includes the SEO basics — proper page structure, meta data, schema markup, fast loading, mobile-first, Google Search Console submission. That's enough for most private practices to be findable for their name and their specialty in their local area.

For practices that want to compete on broader keywords (e.g. "private dermatologist London"), the Group package includes a content strategy, and we run ongoing SEO programmes as a quarterly engagement.

Do you handle GDPR and cookies?

Yes. Every site we build ships with a UK GDPR-compliant privacy policy, a PECR-compliant cookie banner with proper consent management, and the documentation you'd need for an ICO enquiry. The privacy policy is tailored to your specific data flows — what you collect, where it goes, how long you keep it.

What if I don't have copy or photos yet?

We can write copy for you (£180 per page) or organise a half-day photoshoot at your practice (£480). Both are common add-ons. Most clients write their own copy and supply their own photos — but if you'd rather not, we've got it covered.

Are you regulated?

We're a web design business, not a regulated medical, financial, or legal advisor. We don't write clinical content for you — we'll lay it out cleanly, but the medical accuracy is your responsibility. We'll ask you to sign off on every page before launch.

Can you do this for NHS practices?

We focus on private medical practices, but we've worked with private GP practices that have NHS contracts and with consultants who have substantive NHS roles alongside private lists. The website is for the private side; we don't try to replace the NHS.uk infrastructure.
